Assembled -> MG Gundam Freedom

Honestly, I have assembled this unit almost a month ago and pictures shown in this post are actually taken during different time. Like mentioned in my previous post, i despise using stickers so there are quite a few paint work to be done with this unit hence assembled and not completed.

Like all Master Grades, Freedom is very posable.

Freedom with the wide spread wings

The trademark destructive stance of Freedom

Some other poses.

The eye is pretty dull now since there is no color in the eye. Again some paint work will need to be done here.
The unlikely Trio

Completed -> SD Sima Yi

SD Sima Yi has been completed!!!!. It looks pretty cute after build but that not really what I want. I am going to make this SD look like a bad bad *ss. Expect some more pictures after paint.

Although it is just a SD the model itself is pretty decent. It can do more poses than I initially anticipated.

If you noticed, in the first picture the SD Sima Yi was holding a sword and in the second picture he was holding a fan. Now guess what, the weapons (if you consider fan lethal) can combine and form another weapon!!! The weapons will need intensive painting to make it look cool.

Let's welcome the two new joiners to Silverhart's collection!!! SD ZHAO YUN and SD SIMA YI and let not forget Zhao Yun's stead as well.

A closer look at Zhao Yun the hero of Chang Ban Po and his Stead (not sure of the name now).

And here is Sima Yi the evil strategist who ironically usurp the throne from the usurper.
I am still not so sure of which model I will start first. However you will find out if you follow this blog. Until then.

Foreseeing that the post is gonna be messy and a pain to maintain if I am to include all Project Freedom's progress into one post, I have decided to separate the progress of Freedom's body parts and weaponry into two different posts. Anyway here in this post you will find some details of some of the many weapons that Freedom possess.
First of, the MMI-M15 "Xiphias" rail cannons that Freedom wield on each side of its hips. These weapons can be extended to look like below.
To be honest the length of the rail cannon is very long and I initially thought that I had wrongly connected the parts. After triple checking, I am pretty sure I got it right.Freedom's right wing which carries the M100 "Balaena" plasma beam cannon, this wing is pretty impressive and detailed and the plasma beam cannon is hidden within the wings.
This is how it looks like when Freedom activates the beam cannon. The wing is pretty big and i would say it is about 80% of the height of Freedom.
These are the Gundam suckers who can't resist the painful enjoyment of Gundam building and modeling. We need to come up with a name for these Quartet.

Took some time to continue the contruction of the destructive. Finally got the Wings, most unigue part of Freedom done. They are huge and they are heavy.

I placed the spreaded wings on an A4 paper to take pictures and the paper couldn't even fit. The wings are heavy and its giving me problem to try to make the Freedom stand properly. Anyway I will need to work it out.

Next and last stop, the beam rifle, beam saber and shield!!!!!

SD Freedom and Exia

Alright!!!! I mentioned that my brother, Chris, bought a 2 in 1 SD package which includes The Freedom and Exia and he has complete the build. Though in my honest opinion they seriously need some custom painting to for cooler look.

First, THE FREEDOM!!!!

The SD Freedom with its signature widespread wings stance and also the all weapon on stance. Looks cool but really need more colour brother.

Chris tried to paint the shield with my gundam markers (DAMN YOU!!!!! BUY YOUR OWN!!!!). I got to say it looks cool in the picture here but the painting is actually a bit uneven. Anyway good job.

Next stop the Exia!!

Seems like the Exia is build to be a completely offensive machine. It comes with three weapons i.e. The double blue blades, one white blade(sorry i forgot to include the blade :P) and finally the cool GN Blade which again needs some metallic green on the edge for cooler looks.

I like the how Bandai build the GN drive and the green look on Exia's head's sides. Looks like green marble and really doesn't need any customization at all. Nice.

Chris might be custom paiting these SDs and will be psted if there is any update.

BEFORE APRIL FOOLS DAY

Project FREEDOM was still in planning stage until yesterday. What was the planning? I need to first have access to the most important element of any project... THE TOOLS!!!!!
This is the basic tool set I got from Guan Hock Lee which cost $40. Original Price was $41.90. The set consists of a side cutter, knife, file, tweezers and 2 screw drivers (a + and a -).

NEXT are the GUNDAM MARKERS!!!!! I actually got these Markers before the tool set above. As you can see there is a set markers and two fine point markers for paneling.

I was kinda busy last night but still manage to finish constructing the interior body. Lets see how it looks....Can't really tell you much at this stage alone. I actually went on to put on the body frame and took a few picture but didn't have the time to upload to my laptop yet. Will keep this updated....

Finally finished building the upper body of Freedom, cut mu finger during the process and the painful and bloody incident has prompt me to put invest few bucks to bring in some sand paper to my list of tools.
Here is the body with frame completed. Both arms is done. Can't believe how complex it was just to build the arms. Not sure what you call these parts, I guess these are the shoulder cover :)
So with all the parts join together we got the AWESOME upper body done (except the head). Whew..... Can't wait to start building the other parts. Soooooo...... stay tuned people.

5 April 2010, 8am

What a weekend!!!! There is just so much to do and I am starting to hope that Naruto's ninjutsu exists in reality so I can learn his Kage Bushin no Jutsu to multiply myself to be at different place doing different thing at the same time.
There is a story behind why I was customizing this blog for most of the whole Saturday. My brother bought the SD Freedom and Exia from Chong Hock!!!!!! And he was using my tools to excitedly build his new toys. So being a good big brother I decided to take some break from Gundam building and side track a bit to Blog customizing.

Anyway I put more time to building the Freedom again Sunday afternoon.
Here is a part I don't know what you should call. I guess you call it the waist. Basically its the part which connects the upper and lower body. This part my look simple but there is a lot going on inside this part.
The foot of Freedom. I was a bit amazed by the size of the foot at first. "Wow this is like size 15 shoe!!!" was what went through my mind.
The interior of the Freedom's right leg. After I was done with this part, I was like "Whew!!!!!" and start thinking IF I really should get a Perfect Grade hmmmmm.....While I was cutting the frame and sanding the nubs away, I noticed I accidentally left one of the piece of the leg interior unattached and had to open it and attach it and reassemble. Let's see if you noticed which piece I am talking about :) Here you go. The right leg of Freedom. It might look simple but i assure you i took about 2 hours building the ONE whole leg and most of the time is actually spend on sanding away the nubs of the frame. There are lots of scratches on the frame that is not visible in the picture. Painting is necessary now i.e. more money to be spend T.T
My wallet is burning......

9 April 2010, 2am

Hello world, finally I got the other leg done and get to assemble the parts together. Here is how it looks like now.

I got to say after I put the parts together I feel motivation burning inside me. I AM GOING TO FINSIH THIS!!!! If you are wondering why I havn't done the head yet, let's just say I made it my ritual to build the head last when I build my Gundam. Will keep you guys posted.
